Ruth Campau is a painter who works in an expanded field. Her painting is spatial, and she challenges painting’s standard systems. She often uses a broom instead of a brush, and she applies long and parallel paint strokes to transparent sheets of mirrors or acryl. Color is her primary remedy, and the stroke itself becomes the artistic ‘content’.
