Eva Koch – BOTH SIDES NOW
March 21 – August 30 2026
For five decades, Eva Koch has manifested herself as a Danish artist who is difficult to put in a particular box. She works across media and genres and often mixes figurative, conceptual, and formal.
Koch is particularly known for her unique mixes of sculpture and video. She creates e.g. site-specific spatial video installations as well as sculptural elements that seem to break through walls. In this way, her works often play tricks on us while at the same time they challenge our perception of space and time – in a universal as well as a personal perspective.
In the encounter with Eva Koch’s works, picture and space, art and reality melt together. We are constantly doubting from where meaning is generated – and where the limits between us and the work are. This may be experienced not only in the present exhibition, but also when you wander around her work Lyshøjen (The Light Mound) in Kjersing, close to Esbjerg – Denmark’s largest land art work.
